About Us

Reg is the Chair/President of the Foundation and one of its original Board members. Reg practices Administrative/Regulatory Law, Corporate/Commercial, Real Estate and Wills & Estates Law with Caswell & Watson Law Firm. He has volunteered on various charitable and non-profit Boards dealing with youth/communities at risk and with special needs. He has 3 children who have participated in a variety of athletic activities and who have patiently put up with his attempts at volunteer coaching.

Carita is the Secretary and one of the original Board members of The North Toronto Sports Foundation. Carita holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and has a professional background in Business Management, where she worked in Retail Banking for 18 years. Carita left banking to raise 3 active boys and has been an engaged school and sport parent volunteer ever since. Carita continues to serve on UCC’s Association Council and Executive and sits on the Wellbeing and chairs its Governance committees. Carita also is a member Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario Development Cabinet. In addition to the above volunteer roles Carita is also an active member in the Toronto Finnish community. Carita is a Director and treasurer of The House of Finland Society, a not for profit organization that helps advance, aid and promote the creation and upkeep of Finnish cultural events and businesses within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Peter-Paul Bloemen has been fortunate to have had the opportunity to participate in and enjoy many sports. He has also provided leadership through soccer coaching, administration and governance roles. He is passionate about all the positive social, health and community attributes that sport brings to youth. Peter-Paul’s career focused on commercial construction project management, real estate and infrastructure investment and asset management roles across Canada and internationally. He has served on large private corporate Boards of Directors and on the North Toronto Soccer Club Board. He holds degrees in civil engineering and business management and has completed the Chartered Director program.

Doug Blair had a 38-year business career, much of it as CEO of consumer products companies operating internationally. He has been a Director of several private sector, and not-for-profit corporations. Doug most recently was Executive Director of North Toronto Soccer Club, having led that organization for 12+ years prior to retiring. In that role he worked with volunteers and staff to expand programs to a wider community, covering all levels of soccer from entry level to the top leagues in Ontario and including Special Olympics, Para Soccer, and programs from low income and culturally disadvantaged families. In the greater community, Doug was for several years an active participant in the Toronto Sports Council, TDSB Community Use of Schools Community Advisory Committee and City of Toronto Parks SORG – Sports Organization Reference Group.

Jean Hammond was born and raised in North Toronto. She is the parent of two young adults who have participated in a wide range of community sports. Her daughter has participated in Special Olympics soccer since the year it first began. Jean is a Family Partnerships specialist at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital where she manages a group of over 80 lived experience volunteers to partner with hospital and research staff and leadership to ensure the client and family voice is represented in all programs, policies and discussions. Previously she had a career in marketing and communications. She is looking forward to bringing greater awareness to the NTSF and expanding its reach to equity-seeking communities.

Meghan Lauber is the Founder and Principal of Lytton Communications. She brings over two decades of experience in strategic communications, public affairs, and advocacy, including senior roles in the Office of the Premier of Ontario and Ontario Centre for Innovation. She has led successful public advocacy campaigns for national non-profit clients and has a strong record of community engagement — spearheading traffic safety initiatives and establishing a program to welcome newcomer families into her local school community. As a parent of two teenage athletes, Meghan knows firsthand what sport means to a family and why access to it matters. A lifelong champion for girls in sport, she brings both professional expertise and personal commitment to the NTSF Board.

Catherine is a premier retail and brand strategy leader with over two decades of executive experience across Canada and the US. She brings a distinguished background to the Board, having served as AVP for Victoria’s Secret and Country Manager for heritage brands Burberry and Cartier. Currently a Senior Director at Walmart Canada, Catherine also co-chairs a National Associate Resource Group focused on inclusion and belonging.

Faria Umar is a Director in Corporate Banking at BMO, bringing 15 years of leadership experience across banking, finance and consulting. She is a CPA and holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management. As a parent of a young North Toronto Soccer player, Faria has seen firsthand the positive impact sport can have on children’s confidence, development and sense of belonging. She is also a dedicated volunteer and mentor, supporting Indigenous youth and newcomers to Canada through career mentorship. Faria is excited to bring her experience in finance, relationship building and strategic growth to the North Toronto Sports Foundation and help advance its mission of making sport more accessible and inclusive for children and youth.

Aimee Beeston brings 15 years of brand and marketing leadership to the NTSF Board, including five years in sports and event marketing and almost a decade at Nike in Brand Management, where she led cross-functional teams delivering premium brand experiences. Equally committed to developing young leaders, she created Bootcamp for Brains, a leadership program designed to equip young women with the tools to reach the C-suite, and has mentored and coached youth for over 30 years. Her connection to North Toronto sport is long-standing; she refereed at NT Soccer as a teenager, and her kids have grown up playing NT Soccer, Baseball, Hockey, and Basketball.
