Low Income Family Inclusion Program

North Toronto Sports Foundation – to help remove the financial barrier – subsidizes player fees of children and youth from low-income families enrolling in North Toronto Soccer Club programs.

Fees are subsidized for committed players ages 4 to 18 in recreational and grassroots development programs, competitive programs and camps. Summer Camp includes soccer and other sports.

The program is public and is detailed on the North Toronto Soccer Club website. Many families are referred by schools, Board social workers, social service agencies, and family shelters.

The subsidy is 25% to 85% of the player fee based on annual household income verification compared to published LICO – Statistics Canada Low-Income Cut-Off – benchmarks, and may be partially offset by grants from other sources including the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Foundation.

The Foundation matches the amount of fee subsidies provided directly by the club for eligible players. The club designates 2% of players fees to be used for this purpose. A portion of team sponsorship fees supports the program.
