The North Toronto Sports Foundation supports programs that remove barriers to participation in physical activity and organized sports faced by children and youth in the North Toronto area. These barriers include:
All programs supported by the Foundation are continuing on a modified basis during the period of social distancing necessitated by the Covid-19 crisis.
The North Toronto Sports Foundation fully funds the North Toronto All-Abilities Soccer Program, which works with children with intellectual and physical disabilities to develop physical literacy skills and teach soccer skills.
Refugees, children living in shelters, families supported by local social services agencies, and families experiencing low income who live in the community and attend local schools.
Including the SWAN ("Sports Wellness Achievement Network") initiative in the Lawrence Heights family of TDSB schools

Share with friends and neighbours that although North Toronto is overall a relatively affluent neighbourhood, there are many families living below the poverty line and many newcomers to Canada who need support. There are also many families whose children have special needs that can benefit from the support of the the community as a whole.
