The North Toronto Sports Foundation funds 100% of the cost of the Special Olympics and Para Soccer Programs operated year-round by the North Toronto Soccer Club.
With the cooperation of Special Olympics Ontario, the North Toronto Special Olympics Soccer Program provides training in basic movement skills and soccer skills to children and youth with cognitive disabilities. Specially trained coaches and a large number of volunteers work with Special Olympics athletes, with a staff:player ratio of 1:1.
During the Covid-19 situation, programs are being delivered online, with one instructor per player.
Normally, seasonal programs operate in the Fall and Winter at Forest Hill CI, and in the Spring and Summer at Allenby School or Blessed Sacrament School.
In association with ParaSport Ontario, individualized programs are developed and introduced to children with a wide range of abilities.
An all-Abilities Summer Camp operates at Eglinton Park in July and August.
